Entry Selected for Modern Classic
‘Love Train,’ our entry in Herman Miller’s Annual Modern Classic competition has been selected as a finalist. The chair will be up for auction to benefit CHAD, Philadelphia’s Charter High School for Architecture + Design.
Inspired by the iconic 1970s O’Jays song, our chair design, ‘Love Train’ calls for love and unity amongst people all over the world. The chair seat displays urban and rural landscapes with miniature people joining in on our train and along its route, connecting people and places as one. An array of colors in the landscape honors the importance of differences; however, our chair back combines each color in a period Pucci-esque print engaging differences as one.
The Love Train design team included Leah Stoner, Sequoyah Hunter-Cuyjet, Annie Marchessault, and Danielle Puccini.
